NEET PG counselling 2023: Released Notification

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule for NEET PG 2023 counselling. For round-1 counselling, registration will start on July 27, as per the official announcement. Candidates are required to register online and select their preferences for participating in the counselling process. Candidates can complete the registration on the official website mcc.nic.in. The registration deadline for round-1 MCC NEET PG 2023 counselling is set for August 1. From July 28 to August 2 candidates can submit their choices for round-1 counselling. The payment facility will be open up to 8 pm till August 1, 2023, as per server time. The declaration of seat allotment results for round-1 counselling is scheduled for August 5. In general, For NEET PG 2023 Counselling Round 1, candidates can choose and lock their preferences from July 28 to August 2, and the seat allotment result will be announced on August 5, 2023. The selected candidates then have to upload documents on the MCC portal on August 6, and the selected candidates can then report and join their colleges between August 7 and August 13, 2023. Seat allotment rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and stray vacancy round.  

For seat allotment, there will be four rounds of counselling: round 1, round 2, mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. To be eligible for seat allotment, online registration is compulsory. The seat allotment result will depend on the choices filled by candidates, seat availability in specific institutes, reservation criteria, and other relevant factors. Separate seat allotment results will be published for each counselling round.

MCC conducts NEET PG counselling: Universities, deemed, private universities, etc.:

MCC conducts NEET PG counselling for various Institutions/Universities under the following categories:

  1. 50% All India Quota seats of all states (participation of the Union Territory of J&K is subject to their contribution of seats).
  2. 100% seats (All India Quota seats + Institutional Quota seats) of Central Universities, including Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, University of Delhi, and Central Institutes as per eligibility conditions mentioned in Important Questions related to the Scheme of Counselling, duly uploaded on the MCC website.
  3. 100% seats of Deemed Universities.
  4. Half of the AIQ P.G. seats (50%) in colleges under the Employee State Insurance Corporation are reserved for the children/wards of ESIC-insured individuals.
  5. All the post-graduate seats in Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions are available for registration.
  6. Central Institutes, including VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, ABVIMS & RML Hospital, and ESIC Institute, PGIMSR, Basaidarapur, with 50% All India Quota seats and 50% seats of I.P University.

 NEET PG counselling fee:

To complete the registration process for seat allotment, candidates are required to pay the NEET PG counselling fee. The fee consists of both refundable and non-refundable components and must be paid online.

Non-refundable Fee:

For 50% AIQ/Central Universities

  • General: Rs. 1,000
  • SC/ST/OBC: Rs. 500

For Deemed Universities (All categories): Rs. 5,000

Refundable Fee:

For 50% AIQ/Central Universities

  • General: Rs. 25,000
  • SC/ST/OBC: Rs. 10,000

NEET PG 2023 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

The NEET-PG admission eligibility criteria are outlined as follows:

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a recognized MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate from an accredited medical college or university.
  2. Internship: Candidates should have concluded their one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before the 31st of March in the year they are applying for NEET-PG.
  3. Registration: Candidates should have a valid registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCC) or the State Medical Council (SMC).
  4. Citizenship: NEET-PG is open to Indian nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals.to appear for NEET-PG.
  5. Minimum Qualifying Marks: General category candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the NEET-PG exam, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) must secure a minimum of 40% marks.
  6. Age Limit: There is no age limit for NEET-PG.
  7. To participate in the counseling for NEET PG 2023 a candidate must score more than or equal to the qualifying cutoffs released by MCC. The qualifying cut-off score for NEET PG 2023 has been released along with the result.

 NEET PG 2023 Counselling: Notification for PwD candidates

·       The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued an important notification for candidates with disabilities. If candidates registered under the PwD category, they need to obtain an online disability certificate before seat allocation. candidates can obtain this certificate from the PwD portal, which is now accessible.

·       A list of NEET Disability screening centers has been released, and candidates can visit these centers to undergo a physical examination and assessment of their disability, even though the certificate itself will be generated online. It's crucial to note that only the certificate generated through the MCC portal will be accepted during the admission process.

·       All candidates, regardless of whether they qualified NEET PG/MDS with the required cut-off percentile or not, will be eligible to obtain the online certificate. The official notification dated June 27 states that candidates who wish to secure a PwD seat through the MCC counselling process must obtain the disability certificate from any designated NEET Disability screening Centre. The certificate can be obtained only through online mode.

 

NEET PG 2023 Counselling Process:

 

Step 1: Registration

Steps to register for NEET PG counselling:

  1. Visit the official website at MCC- mcc.nic.in.
  2. Click on 'PG Medical Counselling.'
  3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  4. Make a note of your login credentials.
  5. Log in again to complete the application form.
  6. Provide your personal and academic details.
  7. Review the form before submitting it.

 

Step 2: Registration fee

To complete the registration process for seat allotment, candidates are required to pay the NEET PG counselling fee. The fee consists of both refundable and non-refundable components and must be paid online.

Step 3: Choice filling

Now, candidates need to select the course and colleges they prefer from the list provided by MCC. Aspirants can choose as many options as they like. The choices will be shown on the left side of the screen and will move to the right side once selected. Aspirants have the option to add or remove choices from the list. It's essential to review the choices candidates have filled before submitting them because the seat allocation will be based on these selections. Aspirants need not forget to lock the preferences; otherwise, they will be locked automatically after the due date. Additionally, Aspirants should keep a copy of their preferences for future reference.

To participate in NEET PG seat allotment 2023, follow these steps:

  • Visit the MCC website and log in using registration credentials.
  • Choose the college and course preferences for seat allotment.
  • Click on the '+' button to add a new choice.
  • To rearrange the order of choices, simply drag them to the desired position.
  • After making final selections, click on 'save and next' to lock the choices as per preference.

 Step 4: Seat allotment Result

MCC releases the result of NEET PG counselling as a seat allotment list. The NEET PG seat allotment list is uploaded in PDF format on the official MCC website.

 

  • The result PDF contains candidate details, rank secured, allotted course/institute, and remarks.
  • After the registration process for the first round of NEET PG counselling, MCC initiates seat allotment processing.
  • Seat allocation is based on candidates' choices, all India ranks, reservation criteria, seat availability, and other factors.
  • Candidates who are selected can download their seat allotment letter by logging into their registered accounts on the official website.

Step 5: Reporting to the Institute & Document verification

Candidates who are allocated a seat in the NEET PG 2023 counselling process are required to report to the allotted institute. They need to bring all their original certificates along with a self-attested copy. Additionally, candidates must pay the necessary fee to confirm and secure their seats during the counselling process.

NEET PG 2023 Seat Matrix:

NEET PG 2023 Counselling Round 1: preference & options

After the first round of NEET PG 2023 counselling, candidates have three options to choose from:

Option 1: 'Free exit' - If a candidate doesn't report to the allotted institute within the given time, the seat allotted in round one will be automatically canceled.

Option 2: Candidates satisfied with the seat allotted in round one can secure the seat by reporting to the allocated college within the specified timeframe.

Option 3: Candidates unsatisfied with the seat allotted in the first round can opt for seat up-gradation and participate in the next round of counseling. If the seat is not upgraded in the second round, the first round's allotted seat will be retained.

 NEET PG counseling process 2023, Round 2:

The NEET PG second round counseling follows a process similar to the first round. New candidates who didn't participate in the first round must register and pay the registration fee for this round. Those who already registered during the first round need not register again. However, all candidates, whether they declared their choices in the first round or not, are required to fill in their preferences during the second round of NEET PG 2023 counseling.
